SpaceX said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 26 that it had signed a binding commitment letter on Oct. 24 with an entity managed by Apollo Global Management for about $40 billion in financing for graphics processing units, or GPUs, a deal that has not yet closed.

The filing came a day after SpaceX CEO Elon Musk wrote on X: "SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue."

Under the arrangement, the Apollo-managed entity would buy GPUs and related equipment and lease them to SpaceX, The Deep Dive reported. Reuters, in a story carried by CNA, reported that total principal payments under the deal are about $40 billion.
