- Bring all four astronauts home safely after about 30 days.
The plan
- NASA is keeping two routes open and will use whichever lander is ready first.
- With Starship HLS: Orion and the lander meet in Earth orbit, and Starship carries them out to lunar orbit.
- With Blue Moon: SLS sends Orion to the Moon, where it docks with a Blue Moon lander already waiting in lunar orbit.
- Two astronauts ride the lander to the surface and back up to Orion, then all four fly home.
