ULA Vulcan

ULA’s rocket for U.S. military satellites and Amazon’s Leo constellation.

The goal

Replace ULA’s Atlas V and Delta IV with one cheaper rocket that flies U.S. national security missions, NASA science and dozens of Amazon Leo launches.

Where it stands

Vulcan hasn’t flown since February 2026, when a solid booster nozzle failed on the USSF-87 mission. The satellite still reached the right orbit. ULA plans to return to flight on November 13, 2026, carrying 40 Amazon Leo satellites on the first six-booster Vulcan, pending range approval.
