Cert-1
Vulcan’s first flight worked. The Moon lander it carried did not.
Success January 8, 2024
Goal
- Fly Vulcan for the first time.
- Send Astrobotic’s Peregrine lander on its way to the Moon.
What happened
Vulcan put Peregrine on its way to the Moon perfectly.
Peregrine then had a propellant leak that had nothing to do with the rocket, so it couldn’t land and burned up in Earth’s atmosphere.
